CHAIRMAN ~ Ronald Shaw

Recently retired from George Fox University, Ron was Superintendent of Building Systems supervising a crew of 30, including students and has a long resumé of service on both church boards and in choirs. He has also led many volunteer teams to Mexico, supervising building projects involving orphanages and villages.  Currently he is on the Deacon Board and serves as Worship Leader at his home church. Married to his childhood sweetheart, Sharon, for 53 years he is father of eight, has 30 grandchildren and five greats.  Ron is an encourager and has a heart to serve others. His laughter is infectious and his heart is large.

Ron has been involved with Salt almost since its beginning and has on many occasions exhibited his gift as a servant leader. We welcome him and are truly grateful that the Lord has provided such a skilled “people” person to serve under Him.

PRESIDENT ~ Donald Wade

Raised in a Christian family, Don came to know Christ in seventh grade. His relationship with the Lord is one that has obviously guided and directed his life. Married for 19 years and a successful business owner since 1994, he has grown and developed as a leader to the point that any organization would be proud to declare that he was at the helm. Don’s greatest asset is his desire to live life with integrity and an unwavering faith in his Lord. Taking the time to wait upon God for guidance, his patience tempers his passion to help and serve those who serve others. The ministry of Salt is truly blessed and considers Don one of its greatest assets.

SECRETARY ~ LaNette Harper

LaNette WPLaNette currently resides in eastern Washington, but will quickly tell you that she’ll hang her hat wherever God tells her to. Perhaps one of her greatest gifts is the focus she puts on waiting for clear direction from the Lord. We are honored that among the many other ways she serves, both at her home church and within her community, she feels called to bless us too! Her long-standing walk with God and close relationship with Christ have grown her to be a woman of compassion, self control and perseverance. Qualities this leadership team knows to appreciate!

TREASURER ~ Donald Whitacre

Donald  or “Skip” as he is better known, was born in Port Townsend, WA in 1944. He was raised in a Christian family and committed his life to the Lord at age five, being baptized at 17. Through all his life experiences, Skip has faithfully continued in his Christian walk.

Skip and his wife, Pat, were married in 1964 and together have raised one son and three daughters. His interests have centered around music, which has led him to serve as Sound Technician for several local churches. Skip’s servant heart is ever faithful to meet the need for another pair of willing hands. Recently retiring from 30 years of employment as a Supervisor, Skip is now able to follow the strong leading he feels to support Salt and its work wherever he is able.

1st DIRECTOR ~ Brian Vance

Brian has skilled hands and a servant’s heart. As a single dad some years ago, Brian recognized the need for God in his life. As soon as he turned to Jesus, Jesus set him free and the focus of Brian’s life became following his Savior and Lord.

Brian married his wife, Marissa, in 2010 and they have four children. They volunteer at church, are active in a small group and are remodeling their newly purchased home in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. Brian is a journeyman plumber, stays very involved in his children’s lives and raises dairy goats as a hobby. He also leads a Bible study with others who work with him at major league baseball’s Miller Park in Milwaukee.

2nd DIRECTOR ~ Fred Templeton

Fred has been newly elected to Salt’s Board of Directors. He will take his seat at the 2016 Fall Meeting. Fred is just one of those “help wherever I can” kind of guys.

He and his wife Sandy, are faithful in their commitment to serve both at Salt and at their home Church in Salmon, Idaho. Sandy is an active member of the worship team and a ladies Sunday School leader, while Fred serves diligently as one of the elected Deacons.

The only thing that gives Salt a challenge for Fred’s time and energy is his love of chasing a little white ball around an enormously green lawn! We are grateful for his dedication to Salt and willingness to contribute to Salt’s leadership team.

3rd DIRECTOR ~ Bud Salsbury

Welcome another new member to Salt’s Board of Directors. Bud is a Pastor’s son with an incredible testimony of how the Lord has shaped his life. Married for 48 years to his wife, Carol, they share six children and 15 grandchildren! They enjoy spending their summers in Salmon, Idaho and winters in Green Valley, Arizona. Ever seeking to grow spiritually and be better equipped to serve, Bud and Carol are both enrolled in an intense theology class through their home Church in Arizona.

Bud wants to share with others, especially young people, the grace of God. He wants to make visible the message that “God is great and has a plan for each of our lives if we will only be still and listen”. With retirement just around the corner, Bud and Carol hope to become increasingly involved at Salt and live out their desire to serve.

Paul has been a born again child of God for 47 years. Paul resides in Beaverton, Oregon and is proud to be married to his first and only wife, Mary. During their past 45 years together they have raised two wonderful daughters to their present and ongoing maturity in Christ. Paul is a Christian businessman who owned and operated his family business until health concerns forced him to pass the business on to his daughter, Penny. When the IRS asked Paul what he thought qualified him to serve on Salt’s Board of Directors, his response was “ …being led by the Holy Spirit is qualification beyond enough.”

We think that about sums Paul up! We praise God that Paul blessed this ministry with his service. Paul’s sense of humor, humility and real life attitude always kept the rest of the team grounded. We are truly blessed to reap the rewards of his excellent contributions to Salt during its foundational years.

Jim and his wife Teresa have two children and now reside in Chicago, Illinois. Besides being a pastor’s son, dedicated father and attorney, during his time of service at Salt, Jim was the National Director of Planned Giving for World Vision. World Vision is a non-profit Christian charity which supports people groups and families in crisis all over the world through child sponsorship programming. He led the gift planning staff and oversaw all planned giving functions for World Vision.

Admitted to the Illinois State Bar, and a long-time member of the National Committee on Planned Giving, Jim has a B.A. in Biblical Studies from Trinity Bible College and a J.D. from Regent University School of Law. Jim has over 27 years of leadership, fundraising and technical expertise. Earlier in his career, Jim served as Director of Planned Giving Services for the Barnabas Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides estate planning and planned giving expertise to supporters of over 190 Christian organizations across the U.S. Jim has now returned to his employment with the Barnabas Foundation as their Executive Director.

We are thankful and forever blessed by Salt’s strong foundation that Jim was instrumental in building. We are humbled that the Lord saw fit to add Salt to Jim’s lengthy resumé of servanthood.
